2011 11th Annual Neon Cruise
The 11th Annual Neon Cruise, Saturday July 23, was a great success. Over 100 vehicles took part in the Nob Hill Summerfest Show and Shine and Neon Cruise. A restored classic 62 Ford A P D Squadcar led the cruisers west on Central Ave. thru a crowd of thousands at dusk. Destination: Enchanted RV Park {top of 9 Mile Hill on RT. 66} for a drive-in movie under the stars. Cruisers were treated to popcorn and the B/W movie “ THUNDER ROAD” staring Robert Mitchim projected on a 20 x 20 screen. A perfect ending to a perfect day! The Sunday Albuquerque Journal carried a nice article by Patrick Lohmann featuring a photo of Steve and Sylvia Maestas’ 38 Chevy. Thank You all of the participants, the Albuquerque Police Dept., Vickie Ashcraft and Enchanted Trails R V Park, the RT. 66 Association, the Beavertown Paint Ball Crew, Lee Blanchette, and Ray Hartman. God Bless. Bruce Shaffer and the Neon Cruise Committee.
