Once a year, all of the clubs from the council get together for a nice drive and picnic at an area near Albuquerque. Drive your hobby car, and bring the family for a beautiful drive through scenic New Mexico. For 2012, the event was held on August 12th at the Oak Flat Picnic Area. The Four Corners Old Car Club presented an award for their pick of the best entry at the 30th annual NNMSR car show. The show was held in Farmington, NM on July 23, at Civitan Park. FCOCC president Richard Fassler made the trophy that was given to Don Pacheco of Bosque Farms, NM for his 1965 Mercury Comet Caliente.

The Golden Gears Car Club of Alamogordo held a car show on June 23rd, 2012. There were 14 cars for this charity show. Best in show was voted on by spectators and was won by Jerry Hamel.

The Car Show filled up. The Dawn Patrol was there before the sun came over the mountains. Cars started arriving before 6am, and the lot was full by 10am. There were about 360 cars, trucks and motorcycles on display by then. We were celebrating the 100th anniversary of Chevrolet, and plenty of them came to the show.
