El Fondo Hierro is a 3-day, almost 1000-mile cruise through northern New Mexico. El Fondo Hierro is the ONLY slightly organized cruise through northern New Mexico that lets you drive your classic car, for free, on public roads, with other car enthusiasts. Anyone with a car that is 25 years old or older may participate. Although we might make some exceptions. We will be leaving the weekend right before the Balloon Fiesta. September 28th through the 30th. We will Be meeting at 7:30am on the 28th at the far south parking lot of cottonwood mall and leaving all toghether as a group. Official routes will be given out the day of departure. For now all you need to know is that we will be leaving from Albuquerque with a night in Chama and another in Raton.
