Our web site shows up as a #1 hit  on Google, which is amazing and very hard to do, because you cannot artificially bump your status on google; it’s based on popularity and the sites people actually visit. So go us!

Here are the stats so far this year. We are only halfway through May, so that is why all those numbers are low. May is looking to be our best month yet though!

Thank you David, for a job well done!

THANK YOU! We had about 35 people show up to stuff goody bags. It turned out to be a bigger-than-expected job, as we had about twice as many items to go in as last year. We perservered and got the job done! We will do a pizza lunch in July to celebrate our success, and all who helped here and at the car show get a free lunch! A list and announcement will follow in June. Stay tuned. – Joyce –

New Mexico Council of Car Clubs Minutes

April 25, 2012 Meeting

The meeting was called to order at 7:30 PM by acting President John Doran and the following club representatives were present;  Paul McLaughlin Mustang Owners Club, ATHS-NM, Ron Rymarz-OCCA, John Doran- RGMC, Pat Logan-OCCA, Chuck Logan-Cougar Club of NM, Gary Zimmerman-Mopar Club, Su Rymarz-OCCA, Jerry Jennings-Pajarito T-Birds, John Hayne-Albuq Model T Club, HCCA, Pat Hall-CNM, Mike Stickler-Corvairs of NM, Albert Muniz-Dukes CC, Chris Padilla-LOE GTO’s, Raymond Continola-Rickshaws, Lisa BonDurant-Saabisti NM, David Pachak-Robie-Saabisti NM, Chris Bowen- Albuquerque Air Alliance VW Club, Joyce Clements-OCCA, Louie Paul-VMCCA, RRCC, James Clements-Tumbleweed Ford V-8 Club, Bob Agnew-CCCA, Bill Lemen- LCOC.

There were no guest speakers scheduled for this meeting.

Treasurer’s Report- Ron Rymarz reports that our checking account balance as of this date is positive.

Old Business:

501 (c) (3)-Lisa BonDurant reports that our application for a status change is still going through the IRS system and she has no updated information to give us at this time.

Web Site-David Pachak-Robie reports that our council web site is now getting about 8000 hits a month. He is posting new events on a daily basis and we also have some of our photos up on Facebook.

New Business:

Albuquerque Museum Car Show- Joyce Clements has prepared a Volunteer List of jobs that need to be done to make this event a success. She encouraged those people who haven’t signed up yet to do so because we could use the help. She also reported that she has 50 Chevrolets already signed up to be part of our special “Chevrolet 100th Anniversary Display”. Car show posters were available at the meeting for those who wanted to post them around town.

Albuquerque Museum Car Show Goody Bag Stuffing-Meeting will be held on May 16, 2012 at the Old Car Garage starting at 7:30 PM.

Officer Nominating Committee/Board Meeting- will be held on May 23, 2012 starting at 7:00PM at the Old Car Garage. General membership meeting to follow starting at 7:30 PM.

All Clubs Picnic Report- Bob Agnew reports that Isleta Lakes is asking us to pay a fee of $400.00 up front and a charge of $2.00 per person to use their facilities. So we are looking for other sites, preferably with lots of shade trees, to hold this event. A suggestion was made that we might want to look at sites in the East Mountain area.

Other Business:

Spring Thaw Open House at Worldwide Automotive-Bob Agnew reported that over $5000 was raised at this event for Cuidando Los Ninos, and he wanted to thank everybody in the Old Car Community for their support for this worthwhile event.

Two Signatures on Council Checks- Ron Rymarz, our Treasurer, started a discussion concerning having two signatures on all our checks that we write for goods and services. According to Ron our By-Laws stipulate that we have two signatures on each check but it is a hassle for him to try and find another officer to co-sign a check, so he hasn’t been doing so. He brought up the subject for clarification and guidance. A motion was made, seconded, and passed to turn this matter over to the By-Laws Committee for review.

We would like to take this opportunity to welcome our newest club to our ranks. The club is called Albuquerque Air Alliance/RT 66 Club for air cooled Volkswagens.

At this point our meeting was adjourned.

Paul G. McLaughlin

Secretary

Another club joined the Council at the Rodders’ Swap Meet: Lowflyers Car Club. They are a hot rod club for hot rods from the 1930′s through the 1950′s. Welcome to the ranks.

2012 EVENTS

The 2012 Calendar is started. If you have major events scheduled, send them to  joyce@nmcarcouncil.net. Please note that the Calendar is now reformatted to emphasize Council, Car Council Clubs and New Mexico events. The Calendar is now color-coded. The divisions are: Car Council-Sponsored Events, Member Club-Sponsored Events, New Mexico Council-Promoted Events, and Nearby Events. This is to put emphasis on our own events over others in the area. Your comments are welcome. Also note that the new e-mail for events is joyce@nmcarcouncil.net. In order to streamline the process of listing events on the web site, you can submit your own events on line, directly to the web master and newsletter by going to http://nmcarcouncil.org and find the link under events.
